Inspired by past Terrace and Interior Projects, this is our latest Lake House Design, with a concrete tile terrace floor and corten steel railing. 6 rooms comprise the total space in this steel framed, reclaimed lumber clad lake house, designed for a property in Switzerland.

Designed with a spacious interior – a loft-like single room kitchen, dining and living room area with 18 foot ceilings, there is plenty of room to stretch your arms and legs.

Wood veneered kitchen cabinets with large sink and oven, bar, and farmhouse style dining room table comprise this simple, minimalist kitchen.

The main terrace, which directly faces the lake, is spacious and full of plant life, with numerous concrete planters adjacent to the walls. With an inset, grass border along the front next to the railing, this terrace uses elements of the natural surroundings to compliment the concrete tiles. There are two lounge areas, one with chaise lounges and the other with a three piece couch set and outdoor coffee table.

The second and third terraces adjoin the two second floor bedrooms, giving even more space to the large floor plan. Surrounded by existing flora and high trees, the steel beam framed house sits perched on a slope above the lake. Because of the 10 foot height of the building above ground level, it is flood proof.
